I was born and raised in East Los Angeles, and I am very excited to teach in my hometown. I have always been passionate about reading and writing, and that naturally transferred over to myself studying English at the University of California, Riverside. I continued my education at Loyola Marymount University where I received my single-subject teaching credential.
I am is very excited to start this year and share those same passions for reading and writing with my students. I hope that at the end of this year students will be able to experience the joy that comes from reading literature. I have always loved working and volunteering in my community. I volunteered my summers as a tutor at a local elementary/ middle school during my high school years. In college I was able to intern at the American Heart Association where I hosted health fairs around the Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles area. Other than being a bookworm, I love to play different types of sports like tennis and swimming. I can also be found baking new recipes in my kitchen, and playing with my dog at Legg Lake.
